Hello,
My name is Chris Whitacre.
I am a freshman at ISU studying Agronomy in the Agriculture
department. I have recently decided to
major in this topic during winter break.
My first semester, I was originally studying Classical guitar in the
music department. But I disliked it and the 3 hour practices took away the fun of
playing guitar. I am from a small
village called Hudson, 12 miles north of Bloomington-Normal. So I have lived around here my whole life.
I have always been into music since around 5th
grade. When I first started learning the
guitar. I have been in a bunch of different
bands and have played a lot of different genres. Currently I am in two bands, Altar Goliath (Experimental
Metal Band) and The Mailbox Club (Experimental Blues, indie). And we play out a lot and its always super
fun.
I have
enjoyed reading since middle school. I
have read a lot of different series from the Seventh Tower Series by Garth Nix,
to the Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling.
Currently I am on the 5th book of The Dark Tower series by
Stephen King. I have spent quite a bit
of time reading this series. I started
the first book last year. And I end up
reading about one page per two weeks (ha).
The series really interests me.
And I have been obsessed about it since I started it.
By
taking this class I hope to overall increase my English and writing
skills. I have always had trouble
writing papers for school. My first
research paper that I wrote my junior year were lacking in a lot of
information. And hopefully by taking
this class I will be able to increase my research skills and my writing
skills. So I can write better research
papers for the rest of my educational career.
